I am super-excited to let you all know that we now have forums on NicoleWilkins.com!
As most of you have probably heard me say before, one of the things I enjoy most about this website is the awesome, supportive and knowledgeable community we have here. I hope that the forums give us all a chance to talk, ask, answer, and just get to have a little more interactive fun in general. I would love for this to become a place where we can all come and connect with each other – about health and fitness of course, but also share our stories, our jokes, our likes, our dislikes … you get the point 🙂
I will be on the forums answering questions a few times a week, but please don’t hesitate to introduce yourselves and ask/answer each other’s questions. It is my hope that you all can inspire each other as much as I have inspired you, and you have inspired me 🙂
Oh, before I forget – please start posting your questions for the Monthly Member Q&A in the forums. Starting next month I will be taking all questions from the Ask Nicole section there – you can visit the October Member Q&A thread here. But … don’t ignore the other forum sections! In all there are seven sections – Ask Nicole (me :)), Training, Nutrition, Supplements, Contest Prep, Transformations, Motivation and General Chat – where you can post questions, photos, links, get to know each other and help others along the way to reaching their goals and, hopefully, improving their lives 🙂
Chat with you soon!

Log in to replyHi Nicole. Due to bad asthma my doc says no cardio whatsoever just continue to lift. Can I keep my thighs lean while currently in a caloric surplus from my trainer so I may build more mass in my upper body. I don’t want me being unable to do cardio to affect my gains & develop fat in my quads. Is it possible to keep my lower body fat if any to a minimum while on a caloric surplus without any added cardio? Please tell me what I can do or just continue with my nutrition & heavy lifts. I weight train btw 2 days on, 1 day off. & repeat that or I may switch that up & train 3 days on, 2 days off. Thank you so much. Also I am 48 yrs old, 5’6 & weigh 135 lbs. Thank you again Nicole 🙂
Log in to replyGreat! I look forward to everyone’s input.

Log in to replyHi Nicole, What would you say to someone who is a competitor/trainer who recently has been diagnosed with upper hamstring tendinopathy. No cardio or leg training for two months. Physical therapy, active release therapy, yoga, and chiropractics haven’t helped. Orthopedics are at a standstill in that no tears according to the MRI. Going from two times a week on legs (weak body part) to absolutely NOTHING has a person emotionally and mentally spent. Any advice would be of great appreciation.
Log in to replyThanks Nicole for this and for being so active on this site…This is awesome!! Greetings to all fellow members.

Log in to replyI workout at 4am, what would you recommend I eat before my workout and how much time do you recommend I eat before I workout?
Hi Nicole! I’ve been competing the past 2 years in the figure division and one of my weaknesses is that I don’t have a small waist. I’ve been working a lot on my back, trying to make it wider because visually I know it will make my waist smaller. However some people told me that maybe I need to use a girdle or some type of corset like 24 hrs. I don’t know if that is a good idea, would you recommend it? I’ve seen a lot of competitors using it but I don’t want to use something that could cause me health problems.
thank you!
Andie 🙂
Log in to replyNicole,
For the most part Monday-Saturday I wake up at 8:00 A.M to get to the gym at 9:00 A.M for my first session. I am a member of the YMCA in uptown Charlotte, so I really never know how busy or quiet the gym is going to be until I get there. Due to this, I do not determine if I am going to do cardio or lifting in the morning and then cardio or lifting at night. I try to do my cardio fasted, but if I get to the gym and all of the cardio equipment is filled up, I end up lifting on an empty stomach because I do not want to lost motivation sitting around and waiting for a machine to open up. Is this bad to lift on an empty stomach? And is it going to alter results changing the time of cardio from morning and fasted to night time and just have eaten every so often?
Thank you,

Hello,Nicole
Log in to replyFirst of all -you look amazing, and your attitude in sport and life, knowledge, and your calmness amazes even more.Well done 🙂
And of course I have a question- that’s a name is cellulite. I do train for a good while, have a problem with cellulite on my legs,I do hit my legs few times a week, and I do teach classes,my food most of the days is 85% clean and healthy,I was looking for advice of many trainers and competitors, but couldn’t get an answer or I’d say a tip or help or magic 🙂 its really bugging me- I want to wear shorts-my goal its to have legs with no cellulite.
I was thinking I’m doing not enough cardio,or …I can’t even think, sometimes I just want to give up, as I’m really training hard and no change, but I’m not giving up,I think in life there worst things… And life is good:)
If you will have a time, please,I’ll be appreciated.
Thank you very much ,Nicole.
Have a good day 🙂
Hello,I’m very excited being apart your training. 1-8-2008 I had the gastric bypass surgery, 267 to currently weighing 140 pounds. I have kept the weight off with exercise and healthy eating. Now I want to become lean and tone and build muscle mass. Please help me…. What do I eat ,what exercises do I do. I weights 3 times a week and do cardio 4 times a week. Thank you and God bless.
Log in to replyHey Nicole,
I am an NPC Figure competitor and I have a hard time getting separation in my legs (quad teardrop and glute/ham seperation) do you have any tips for this?
Log in to replyI am somewhat new to the world of fitness and I was wondering what suppliments and vitamins you take?!
Log in to replyHi there! Not sure if anyone answered your question or not, but I would recommend taking a multivitamin and one fat supplement, such as omega 3’s. Since your new to the fitness world try to keep things simple, use food for your supplememts. Try to eat clean (avoid processed foods) eat every 3 hours, dink plenty of water, and be sure to get enough sleep so you enjoy every workout 🙂 hope I helped a little bit
Log in to replyHi, love you & your website. Will you have a members challenge in the future? I would love to be apart of it if you do.
Log in to replyYes we are working on it now 🙂 Thank you!
Log in to replyNicole , I’m a Huge Fan . =)
Log in to replyHEY NICOLE I AM A NEW MEMBER AND WAS CURIOUS IF YOU POST WORKOUTS. I HAVE SEEN THE NEW YEARS AND THE THANKSGIVING DIDN’T KNOW IF THERE AS SOMEWHERE ELSE TO LOOK…ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW MOTIVATIONS.
Log in to replyJennifer, I am a new member too & have found many of her workouts under “videos” Also, if you type what you are looking for in the “search” bar in the upper right corner, you will find other workouts. For example, if you are looking for a leg workout just type “legs” in the search bar. I’m still learning the website myself, but that’s how I found alot of workouts. Cheers!
Log in to replyHi Nicole
Log in to replyI logged in on my fitnesspal and I am not really happy to see that it recommends that I eat only 1200 kalories per day.
I am 45 years old 68kg.
I am an office worker so I am not very active over the day. But…. I am a fitness competitor last time overall winner in Santa Susanna in Master so U train 6 days a week about 50min each time.
I want to loose 5kg and about 0.5 per week. But 1200 a day is a like I’m cutting for a show hehe
Please help if I am programming it wrong, it look very easy so I dont think I am
