I’m really bad with single leg balance myself. I will use body weight or a light weight and stand next to something (wall, bar, chair, etc) so if I need to I have something close by to help me. Try without shoes on as well, I was taught to plant your foot firmly and spread your toes to grip the ground. It’s helped me.
