    Renae,

Good to hear from you and Happy Holidays to you. I must say that Christmas wasn’t much better for me than Thanksgiving and the time between was not very good, however on a positive note, during that 4 weeks I didn’t gain any weight and was actually down one pound, which isn’t the progress that I would have liked, but given the holiday’s, the bad choices with food, and the amount of gym time that I missed I feel it was a huge success. Like you, I got myself back on track yesterday with good meal prep and a very intense workout yesterday, I could certainly tell that I had lost some strength throughout that time with how hard the workout was, however it was so good to get back into the gym and looking forward to starting 2016 on a high note and having a great year. Hope you have a terrific New Years and best of luck on the start of 2016 for you also. Look forward to hearing more of your journey.

Good morning all. I hope that everyone is having a good holiday season. I must say that between a Thanksgiving vacation that we took and our family holiday party last week, I have struggled with staying focused on eating right. I must say that it wasn’t completely out of control like it would have been in the past, but it got me off course. I need a very good and hard week at the gym this week to try and recoup what I did to myself this last weekend. Luckily I am through all the big parties (except one work party) for the holiday season and can try and get myself back on track. I hope everyone is doing well with their transformations and hitting and achieving their goals. Take care all.

    Lindsey,

Hey there. This forum seems to have slowed down to nothing 🙂 I just wanted to say Hi and see how things were going in your transformation? I hope you have had some good holiday time and are doing well through this very tough time of the year to stay focused on the goals. Please let me know how things are going and Happy Holiday’s to you.

    Kristin,

I think you will be more than ready by next year and I think you will have a great time doing it, plus the show will give you the opportunity to know what the judges think and what they expect. The show that I referred to was my first show that I attended. I am just 4 months into my weight loss and transformation journey. It was cool to watch one and see how things worked. I am down 51 pounds right now and have about another 100-120 that I was to loose in addition to building my physique, so my goal would be to do a show in three years which is when I turn 50. Keep up the great work on your progress and I look forward to seeing and hearing more.

    Vernita,

Thank you very much. I appreciate your support and encouragement. It did feel wonderful to not see a 3 on the scale and will be great to never see that again. Thanks again!!!!

    Kristin,

Thanks for sharing your transformation. Very nice progress from beginning picture until now. You are looking good and I wish you the best of luck with your progress and with your first competition (whenever you decide to do that). I think you will enjoy it and will do well. I went to my first show this last weekend and really enjoyed it and hope to do one someday.

Congrats on taking control of your situation and completely changing your life. You are doing an amazing job and you should be very proud of yourself. You certainly had many obstacles in your path that you had to navigate around, but it appears as though you are doing a great job of it. You look terrific. Keep up the great work.

    Hi all,

Today was my 4 month mark of working with my personal trainer/coach and I hit my first big milestone. I crossed the 50 pound loss mark and also got below 300 for the first time in many years. It was nice to say good bye to the 300’s this morning at my weekly check-in and will be glad to never see that again. I hope everyone is doing well and having great success with their journey!!!!

    Nicole,

Thanks for the response, this site is absolutely awesome as are you!!!!! I am from the Kalamazoo area on the West side of the state, a couple of hours from Sterling Heights. I fully understand not wanting to be here in the winter. The older I get the more I could do without the winter. I would love 4 seasons of great weather instead. You are lucky where you are at.

    Nicole,

Thank you for your words and inspiration. I must say I had quite a big smile on my face when I saw a reply from you 🙂 I am also from Michigan (still here, not smarter enough to get someplace warmer like you) and appreciate all you provide on your site and all you do for people.

    Vernita,

Thank you for your kind words and support. Congrats on getting started with your “change” at 49. I guess I am getting in early LOL. While I wish I would have made this choice years ago, I am glad that I am doing it now and just love the gym and the feeling of being exhausted after a workout. Good luck in your continued working out and thanks for sharing your friends story of his first competition. I hope to be able to do the same.

Heather, You are doing so great. I got started about 3 months ago with a trainer/coach and initially was doing so for weight loss and no aspirations of competing, however as I get more into it, the more I love the working out (lifting), the more I think that I would like to attempt to compete in a couple of years. Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing more progress. Kevin
