ParticipantHi,
I am not showing any nutrition plan or menus or exchange of any kind. I’ve joined many challenges before and this is the first that’s happened. I can see all the directions on how to use it just not any of the plans. Help!!

Participantspeaking of Negative Pull Ups…how long do other people take to slowly come down? I often wonder how others do these. Do you count? I hate the shaking at the end lol
Christina Cubbage
ParticipantI drop the knee pad on the assisted pull up and use it as a step to hoist myself up high and then do the slow come down

ParticipantYep it was good for me to read this too. I have lost 2lbs. I have worked really hard and keep peeking in the mirror lol. All this self denial and self discipline seems tough but I know it needs to roll into a routine for awhile. However, I KNOW things will be looking better down the line. I trust Nicole and my body has always responded in a positive way to her plans. I enjoy listening to all the diet fads and quick fixes and think…nope, I am doing this the long term way that really works…That sense of control and progress is kind of satisfying 🙂

ParticipantI am also wondering when is the last day to enter photos…

ParticipantI am wondering how everyone is feeling now on this link. I did a muscle up challenge in 2016 I do believe and remember asking the same questions. I did end up losing weight like after week 3. Also I am noticing even now that my weight has not changed alot (even with a cheat at a fair over the weekend) but my clothes are already fitting a little looser.
Also, I did one of Nicole’s challenges and got discouraged and didn’t follow it as strongly. A month or so later, I was looking at my before and after pics and noticed differences in my back. If I had stuck to the challenge a little more stringently, I would have seen changes in my hips which is the last to go.
These challenges DO WORK even though your focus might be centered on something else. While you are focused on the bloating and weight gain, you are not focused on the amazing changes that ARE taking place that you can’t see; these changes are laying the groundwork for the changes that you soon will see. Think about it….how often do you follow such a healthy routine so stringently? Once your body gets adapted, then you will start noticing good changes. Remember, you must do the unusual to look the unusual. Nicole’s earlier quote of “You must be willing to do the things others are not willing so that you can do the things others cannot do.”

ParticipantThanks for the magnesium tip. I remember Nicole saying she takes maybe 300mg a day or something like that. I could be wrong. Definitely going to try it.Do you take it a certain time of day?

ParticipantHi Brenda Karen and Naomi
That’s great!! I am turning 50 this year. I think it’s great to see the 50 and older folks doing this challenge. My body too is liking this. I’m 5ft3 and 132lbs. I too am lifting about the same weight.
Unfortunately I’m a little nervous about going over 145lbs for any barbell squats. I begin to feel pressure in my back and knees. I just don’t want to do any damage. I am just wondering how to get around this and increase weight. I am wondering how other folks deal with joint issues. I don’t really have any joint issues, but I feel very sore and am slow to walk up steps for about a day. Also, I had lower back pain last week when I did the plate over head, lunges. I will probably have to look for an alternative or a lesser weighted plate. I used 25lbs.
Any other thoughts?

Participantthanks

ParticipantHi where do you find casein protein? I looked up 5HTP as it sounded like something Id like to try however I read the dangers of it causing a leaky heart valve. Naomi, have you heard of this and how to you try to keep this from happening? I read good reviews of 5HTP and would like to mention it to my daughter as well.
I use lavender essential oil on my wrists and a few whiffs and it helps me go back to sleep for at least another 3 or 4 hours. It has helped me a lot. However, I am willing to try other things for a full nights good sleep. I sleep very well on days that I don’t have to work, like last night lol

ParticipantRachel a separate account is a great idea. I did not know you could do that with instagram? I’m not sure how to do that. I feel the same way as you. I have never been involved with the instagram posts because I knew my friends and family would be weary of that sort of thing. Also it doesn’t mesh with my introvert sort of quiet personality. “Hey y’all look at what I’m doing” would make me feel so so uncomfortable. I have missed out on those weekly insta challenges but I am doing these challenges for me and no one else needs to know. If they ask, I will be happy to share though.

ParticipantI have had peanut butter included in my breakfast meal for 60 days during this challenge and it has caused me to look forward to breakfast every morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed for more peanut butter during the next challenge. Muscle up with Peanut Butter? Sorry, I just had to say it 🙂

ParticipantMe too! I turn 50 in July and feel so blessed to have such great health. This challenge has been so good for me and I’m so happy with the results. Finishing strong!!! Maybe we should start a NW 50 upwards forum/group? LOL
Christina Cubbage
ParticipantI thought the macros were listed on the last part of the menu/meal schedule
Christina Cubbage
ParticipantNever a problem with appetite. I have had some trouble with sleep but I think mine is more hormone related and probably not to do with diet. I sleep better on weekends which shows its probably also due to job stress. I take melatonin during the week which helps

ParticipantThis thread is hilarious, lol! Nicole were you serious about throwing it on the floor? I literally put a large knife into it and then bang it on the counter trying to get it to split. This is after I have microwaved it for 5 min. Does this count for arms? Which muscle group am I working?
I need to buy an instapot!!!

ParticipantOat Bran folks…y’all should try the protein pancake!!! Eaten with peanut butter and syrup. I look forward to it every morning!! Just sayin 🙂 Keep on keeping on!!
Christina Cubbage
ParticipantI measured the bowl then subtracted the batter from the bowl amt and divded by 12. I ended up with 84grams or almost 1/2 cup but I still ended up with 10 pancakes. I figure I will only eat one a day. They are pretty big actually. about the size of a coffee cup plate or a just a bit bigger. Any ideas on this?
Christina Cubbage
Participantawesome!!
Christina Cubbage
ParticipantI wondered the same thing and guessed correctly based on the other meal amounts
Christina Cubbage
ParticipantYes I am wondering the same :). I did the 60 day but falter in phase II due to hubby being in an accident, concussion and this long recovery/disability. He is better and now I’m ready to roll
Christina Cubbage
ParticipantOkay thank you for the reassurance. I actually am not terribly fond of leg days and the pain afterward so one day a week will be a nice change.
