Are we supposed to track our exercise in MFP too? Or is it just to keep track of our food? I think that’s where I am getting thrown off

Okay, I am tracking all of my macros in MyFitnessPal and have read and reread the nutrition info but I don’t feel like my question was answered. Because I teach additional fitness classes, if I also log those into MFP, then I am coming in way under my macro/calorie count for the day. Is that okay?? I know I will probably lose weight faster but I’m concerned d about my energy level. Is it okay to add some food (as long as it is within my daily macro count and from one of the meals prescribed in the program)?

    Hi Nicole!

I became a member of your website just a few months ago and love following your progress and am learning so much about this sport! I have always wondered what it would be like to get into the best shape of my life and want to do a figure competition. Now that my third (and last) child is 18 months old, I think it is finally my time! But I am a little overwhelmed at where to start…can you help me? When I read your background, I immediately resonated with you. I have always been naturally athletic and tend to gain muscle easily (I’m a mesomorph). I am 5’7, 154 lbs, and am also 31 years old! I have many years of dance training but since having kids, have found that running keeps me in the best shape. I know I need to start lifting in order to do a competition but just don’t know where to begin. I have started using my fitness pal to log my workouts and nutrition, keeping my macros at 40/30/30. I’ve also started taking Les Mills classes like Body Pump and Body Attack to start building my strength and get some variety. Is this a good start? Where do I build from here? I would greatly appreciate and advice you can give! Thank you and I can’t wait to watch you Drive for Five!

    Sincerely,
    Kathleen
