ParticipantI pulled something in my right hip from the side planks on this plan…ugh! 2 weeks now, hurts like hell! Is this common?

ParticipantMy entire spine pops when I do stiff legged deadlifts and squats. No pain but it sounds horrible. Have you head of this or any ideas on why this occurs? I notice with aging there is a lot more of this stuff going on 😉

ParticipantYes, got it! Well, I did those completely wrong tonight lol! But will be more on the ball next week.

ParticipantAre bodylastics okay?

ParticipantI am so glad you asked this question Sandra! Even when I am in peak shape, nope, can’t do this one properly. Thanks for the suggestions.

ParticipantThanks for sharing Sarah!

ParticipantI love this! I needed the structure and a push to get back into the gym since I was previously doing circuits at home mainly. The meal plan is very simple and the greatest thing for me is that my bloodsugars have really stabilized (I’m Type 1 diabetic) . All the carbs had me worried at first but this week has been awesome bloodsuger wise, much better than before I started on the plan. Thanks!!!!

ParticipantThanks Nicole! Will try that next time.

ParticipantI like the bottoms I’ve purchased from Otomix however not always budget friendly.

ParticipantYay! You look tighter already. Thanks for sharing 🙂

ParticipantOh yeah, totally! It’s tough. I too learned from competing that we just have to get out of our head and it can be our own worst enemy at times. I was so friggin hungry yesterday with only the 4 meals and drank tea sweetened with liquid stevia last night to make it through.
I knew from the start of this challenge that I only get to do 50% of it due to a medical thing coming up, was bad timing, however I plan to give it my all while I can. My little voice is telling me “it is ONLY 30 days”. When I get to do the full challenge I’ll tell myself “it is only 60 days”. That is a really short amount of time. Hell, that beats a 12-14 week prep any day lol! You can do this girl!

ParticipantHoping okay to do it on an off day…..

ParticipantAwesome few days! I am so happy with eating all of these carbs. It’s been a long time since I’ve focused on “building” and not so much on the cardio part. I think I am really going to enjoy phase 1!

ParticipantWouldn’t adding water be a better alternative since the almond milk adds additional calories?
laura1
ParticipantI added water as well to get the consistently I liked, the bars are wonderful!

ParticipantGreat post Courtney! I love reading everyone’s story.
I’m 45, started training when I began work in a construction trade at 24. I was 1 of only 6 women at the time in the local union and for very good reason, hard dirty work! I left the job however my love for weight training, fitness and nutrition grew from there and followed me throughout my life.
I turned it down a few notchs after competing in figure. Honestly, although a great experience, it kinda sucked the joy out of training for me. I remained active but just not to that extreme.
At my age now, the gray hair, fine lines and wrinkles that are beginning to appear are terrifying so I don’t want a saggy butt too lol! That is why I am in this challenge. To get leaner, tighter and gain more confidence. Also, as a type 1 diabetic since the age of 6, my favorite compliment has always been, “you don’t look like a diabetic”! I believe that training and following a healthy lifestyle has kept my health in check all these years.
Big thanks to the NW team for putting this challenge together! Good luck everyone 🙂

ParticipantHA! Me too. It looks like a protein powder bomb went off on the countertops and my hand mixer has protien powder all over it. I just added some water to it and they look fabulous now 😉

ParticipantFor phase 1, I plan to hit it all in one session when I do the “treadmill” and “stepmill” HIIT. However when I do the other HIIT options, I’ll probably take a break after lifting, eat, go shopping, etc. then do it when I get home later in the evening. I think Phase 2 will be much easier since fasting am cardio is allowed.

ParticipantWow Lisa, you are an inspiration! That would be extremely difficult to go through. So, good for you to have the strength to use something so negative (heartbreaking) to your advantage, lighting a fire inside to improve your health and well-being!
Best of luck to everyone! I am super excited to be in this challenge with ya’ all! heading to the grocery store today …..woo hoo!
