Thanks Nicole! I’ve included a small amount 1/8 cup in my macros. I appreciate the reasoning why you’ve omitted.

Thanks all. I went ahead and used the Vermont Sugar free syrup. I figure the 15 extra calories is worth my sanity. 🙂

Today is the first day I’ve been pretty hungry. My calories were lower pre-challenge, but I’m guessing that ramping up my cardio is doing the trick.

Hi Tara, I’ve done two previous challenges and it was okay to eat your last meal before bed. I would imagine this is the same case.

    Hi Linda,

I’ve completed two of Nicole’s previous challenges and I’m a vegetarian. It’s very important for you to keep track of your macros – I use the paid version of My Fitness Pal. Since you will have to customize the meal plans, it’s important to know exactly what you’re taking in. Because vegetarian protein sources are much higher in carbs, you’ll have to adjust those as well.

I mostly shop at Trader Joe’s, so I eat both of their firm tofu products (Sriracha and Teriyaki flavored) and Sausage-less Sausage. They had a great Chickenless Chicken (the highest in protein and lowest in carbs/fat) but it’s discontinued for now. Have you tried Seitan? I have that as well. It’s the highest in protein option. Tempeh, not so much, so I skip it.

It takes some creativity and number crunching, but we can both make these macros work. 🙂

Thanks Nicole, I appreciate the reply. I snuck one rice cake since I thought it was a safe option. I’m finding it a little easier today, so I’ll hang tight.

P.S. My entire office dipped strawberries in chocolate/toppings this afternoon, but I fought through! ?

    *typing while hangry*

I have 3 meals while I’m at work (9:30am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm) and then, I eat when I get home, post-workout meal and then 3 hours later before bedtime. I just finished my salad and I’m still hungry. Ah! I was quite hungry when the 2.5/3 hr rolled around for phase 1, but I wasn’t delirious or rumbling at the gym.

I live in NYC, so perhaps this has something to do with it. I walk a lot and never really thought about it until now.
    To/from gym: 30 min total
    To/from work: 22 min total
I’m always walking around my office, but I’ve never tracked my activity.

Hi! I thought I would chime in on this thread instead of creating a new one.

I’m guessing that our bodies will need a few days to adjust to the lower calories? I started phase 2 one day early (yesterday) due to my refeed meal being on Saturday. I barely made it through the day – I was incredibly hungry, especially after weights and before cardio. I’m 5’5″ and 142lbs, meal plan 2. My macros all line up. I’m getting by today, but I could barely think at work during the 2 hour mark. I’m going to increase my water, but I’m not sure if I’ll have enough energy to get through training tonight. Advice is much appreciated. Thanks! 🙂

Do you have your period or is it coming up? I was ravenously hungry last week because of mine. I almost couldn’t handle it. I did a little research and they say it can boost your metabolism 2.5 to 11%.

OH wow! I must be doing something wrong – or it’s my great dislike for eggs and oatmeal coming through. I could barely finish them. they were so mushy. I’ll try blending. Thanks for the tip.

    Thanks so much Nicole!

I actually ended up getting the Beats Solo’s after watching all of your workout videos. They’re the best. I’ll make sure to keep them out of the case. Thanks again!

To be honest, I’ve been avoiding them, especially for the challenge. They’re higher in fat and macros than regular protein powder.

I recently bought Mutant’s ISO Surge in cookie and cream. I was bummed because it tasted terrible, but now that I’m mixing it with unsweetened almond milk – it’s actually really good. 🙂

I’ve been following Nicole as a member on her website since last October when I relocated. Sadly, I had to say goodbye to all of my gym buddies – so Nicole’s workout plans have definitely helped keep me motivated. I’m a little nervous of the challenge (mainly the nutrition since I’m vegan), but equally excited. Good luck everyone!!
