ParticipantI’m 4’10 and 110 lbs so I’m not sure if it will work for me either. I’m almost 60 and being inactive during the COVID lockdown slowed down my metabolism further. I’ll have to use the 5’4 menu plan but that’s 6 inches taller than me! I’m afraid of gaining more fat instead of losing.

ParticipantI thought we are supposed to be gaining weight? When I did the last muscle up challenge, I gained 7 lbs but my body fat percentage went from 31% down to 27%. Don’t rely on the scale ladies! It’s a good thing to gain muscle weight! I want to gain 10-15 lbs if I could.

ParticipantI need to move to Canada.. or California

ParticipantBut if the typhoon is bad enough to knock out the power for a few weeks, can I stay in the challenge? I did buy a butane burner. I will not have refrigeration. Can I stick to the macros and stay in? I am asking now whileI have internet access. I have really worked hard the last 7 weeks, I don’t want to give it all up due to inconvenience .

ParticipantIf I can perform 12 sets without struggle but can barely lift 4-5 reps with the next weight up, should I just do all sets with 12 reps or should I do 4-5 reps with the next higher weight?

ParticipantMichelle-
I just turned 57 yesterday and I’m 27 % body fat so I understand how you feel. It’s definitely harder post memo pause. I did not lose any weight when I did the Summer shred But I am going to take Nicole’s advice and follow it to a T.

ParticipantOk, maybe I’ll grow some muscle in phase 1. I’m more interested in bringing my fat percentage down so I am not too worried about actual scale weight. I gained 8 lbs during the muscle builder challenge and my fat percentage went down from 31% to 27%. I’m really glad this challenge is longer. Thank you so much Micole. I love your challenges.

ParticipantThank you. Unlike others, I am adjusting to a very big caloric deficit and I think I freaked out because I had never lost 4 lbs in 6 days, even when I was on a cutting program . I have a hard time gaining muscle and lose it quickly.
Like you said, I will listen to my body and adjust my meal plan.

ParticipantAre you sure? I have a very physically demanding job and I burn about 2200-2600 calories a day. I am down to 97 lbs . I had trouble with energy at work last week because of the reduced amount of food. Also, this advice is different from the one given last week when I was told to try it out the first week and then increase if I feel my body needs more since everyone has a different metabolism.
I am eating at a deficit of nearly 1000 calories. I am also losing strength. I feel like I am on a shred program.

ParticipantI wish we had that brand. Mixing tuna and avocado is very yummy! I hate mayo but love avocado so I used to eat it that way anyway.

ParticipantYou are not alone. I’m feeling it my back! After arm day I could barely wash my hair or take off my sports bra. I usually go in the sauna and have a cold shower but foam rolling also helps.

ParticipantI will try the plan this week and if I lose weight I will go up a plan and keep going up until I gain.
Rose
ParticipantI guess I am not the only one with this problem.

ParticipantI am 4’10 and weigh 101 lbs so I am in the under 5’4 plan. In that plan, the calories are only 1688. Maybe I should eat the menu of a taller person so I am eating around 2500? I expected about 2500 calories for this challenge.
Rose
ParticipantI am also eating about 2200 calories just to maintain my weight. I have and an active job and I burn about 2200-2500 calories a day. I ate about 1800 to lose fat so 1688 calories seem very low. Would I be able to build?
