ParticipantHi Kim! I’m sorry to hear that your 1st trainer didn’t work well for you. I swear by mine and feel that to get started on your fitness journey; you really need to have someone to be accountable to. I would interview several trainers in your area and chose the one that you feel has your best interest at heart….or start training with Nicole. Get your eating right and start tracking EVERYTHING you eat on “MyFitnessPal.com”. Again, the right trainer can set you up with a meal plan that you can live with. Then exercise, exercise, exercise. I usually workout twice a day…cardio in the morning and weight training in the afternoon. When I do cardio, it is typically running, stair mill or the spin bike. I also got myself a Polar M400 watch (the same one Nicole has). This watch will track your heart rate, calories burned during a workout and all sorts of other things. I love my watch and don’t do a workout without it.
And the most important thing….never give up. We all have our good days and bad days. The key is never let the bad days totally ruin your fitness goals!
Hope this helps.

ParticipantHi Kerren! I lost the weight by clean eating…faithfully, doing cardio (spin bike, stair mill and some running); however, I have severe osteoarthritis in my knee and have to be very, very careful about how much running I do. I typically do 45 minutes of cardio a day and then weight train for another hour or so in the evenings. I’m working hard towards eventually competing (next year), but still have some weight to lose, so my trainer has me doing plyometric workouts. I push myself to ensure that my heart rate stays within the “fat-burning” area. If I can give any advice…I would say the single most important way to lose weight is….DIET. There is a saying “you can’t out-exercise a bad diet.” Let me know if any of this helps.

ParticipantHello Everyone! My name is Laura. I’m 54 year young and really started my fitness journey about 2 years ago. I realized that as I got older, my weight got higher and my health started to get really, really bad. High blood pressure, border line diabetes…all the health problems of a lazy, over-eating lifestyle. So, one day I was chatting with a friend, who was in fantastic shape. I asked what she was doing, and she told me about this wonderful personal trainer at the local gym. I started training with her and have been with her for 2 years. I have lost over 70 pounds and have muscles I didn’t know I had. Then one day….I found Nicole’s site. I was immediately head over heels in love with everything about Nicole; her kindness, her drive, her motivation…everything. I still have my personal trainer, but I hit Nicole’s website and bring training idea to my workout with my trainer now. I so look forward to chatting and watching each and every one of you grow in your fitness lifestyle and watching Nicole get her 5th IFBB Figure Championship!
