    Hey- Should I be losing weight on Phase 1 of the program? I lost 7 pounds this week and am concerned since this is our gain month.

    Hey Amanda,

    Our bodies do weird things and all of our bodies have different ways of adjusting to changes in diet and exercise. I would not give up hope (I do know it is hard) but these next two weeks may be what your body was waiting for. The main thing is that you have gotten started, are building a good strong base and can carry on after the challenge. It may be just taking your body a little longer to wake up and realize what it is supposed to do….:)

    Naomi – Thank you so much for the great information. I was just curious – I’m a bit older (I do not admit it usually) and was concerned that I may not be able to increase my strength. I know the natural course of things as we age but I feel age is just a number and really refuse to go with that theory. haha I lift heavy, but just get frustrated if I feel like I am not progressing. The challenge has helped a lot – it has gotten me more on point and focused and I love that. I am getting ready to read Tip Me Tuesday: Gaining vs Losing. I have been trying to go through and read each of those. Always trying to gain information.

    Thanks Naomi – no I get it, I understand about the caloric deficit, whew I feel it too..haha. I always try to lift heavy and just feel sometimes I get stuck where I will be lifting the same weight for months on end. I really appreciate your help –

    What is a good substitute for the 1 oz avocado? I can’t find avocado on the exchange list. I know it is a good fat but not sure of a good substitute
