I’m not a cooked oatmeal eater either but I have been putting in a bowl the dry oatmeal, frozen blueberries and cooked ground turkey. I microwave it for just over a minute then add some cinnamon to it and mush it all together. Doesn’t sound appealing but I really like it. I eat the turkey bacon on the side.
ruygrats4ParticipantHi have the same ?. I can’t get Nicoles protein as I live in Canada. The protein I use is 26g /scoop. If you’re making a dozen muffins and they are 5 g of protein each as stated on the recipe then that is 5g. x 12 muffins = 60g protein. That is just over 2 scoops of protein for what I use. 1 1/2 cups protein would make the protein/muffin a lot more thus I should be eating less of them. Suggestion?
ruygrats4ParticipantI mixed the coconut oil and the protein powder together (had to add 1-2T almond milk for consistency). It turns out like icing. It’s a lot but I just spread it on the muffin as I take bites. Otherwise, I was going to actually bake the coconut oil into each muffin individually and have the protein in water.
ruygrats4ParticipantAnswer about fat macros please
ruygrats4ParticipantThanks for the reply. My walks (hikes) are usually around 50 min or so. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing too much cardio. There are hills so heart rate can get up to 140 but not for 1/2 hour. I’ll do the cardio in the plan and not count my dog walks (usually burn about 225 calories – I’m on meal plan 1)
ruygrats4ParticipantAnother ? in regards to cardio. I usually hike my dogs for my cardio at least 5 days a week. It would work for the steady state. I’ll do the 2 days of hit cardio as well. ? is can I do more than the 4 days of cardio suggested to get my dogs out??
ruygrats4ParticipantI did the same, mashed the avocado into the tuna and did open face sandwiches with both pieces of bread. It was great. Just wondering how often we can eat tuna??
ruygrats4ParticipantDon’t know if you have tried the chicken/romaine/avocado salad but I find it is really big so I measure out the cucumber and carrots and put them to the side to much on throughout the day when I need something. Can’t eat the whole meal all at once!!
ruygrats4ParticipantI use frozen blueberries too as it makes it juicy and more flavorable. I don’t like the taste of plain yogurt. I used to add some vanilla protein powder to it to sweeten it up and then I didn’t have to eat as much of it but with this challenge I’m not. I tried it today and with the almond butter (which I haven’t done before) it was pretty tasty. Didn’t think I would be able to eat all of it at one sitting but I did!!
ruygrats4ParticipantFollowing. I’m doing meal plan 1 and wondering if it’s correct that we can have salmon in phase 1 but phase 2 and 3 it’s the sirloin. Is this correct as I am to believe the food isn’t supposed to change??
ruygrats4ParticipantWas just looking at the recipes for the Phase 2 meal plan and it states 375 for 30 min for the muffins!!
ruygrats4ParticipantI made these today and tried them out as I’m not a big egg person but will do egg whites. They are pretty good!! I did try a couple by putting 15g of oatmeal in each (so 30g for 2 muffins) and they were ok. I don’t like cooked oatmeal but love it baked in something so figured easy way for me to get my oatmeal with them.
ruygrats4ParticipantI was wondering about serving size too. If all meal totals are the same so you can switch them around it appears the 2 muffin serving is 1/2 the amount of the other meals, even though you’re adding in the oatmeal. Also, I don’t like to eat cooked oatmeal, could I add the correct amount of oatmeal into each muffin instead before baking them??
