A tight, defined stomach is one of the best signs you’re in great shape. And although there is more to it that just training abs, you can’t ignore that aspect if you’re looking to develop your six-pack. In this video I demonstrate my five current favorite ab exercises and how you can use them in your routine. I say current because they are constantly changing, but these are some of the ones I have found to be the most effective for targeting the different areas of your abs – upper, lower and obliques.
Give them a try and let me know what you think!
Great ab workouts Nicole! You have such a strong core. I find it very difficult to do ab exercises without having back pain during and after the exercises, so frustrating.
Log in to replyAwesome video Nicole! I tend to neglect my abs in the gym and have been telling myself I need to make an effort to incorporate them in between workouts. By the end of my workout I’m pooped so the last thing I want to do at that point is abs. Definitely going to try to incorporate some of these in between sets! Thanks!! 🙂

Log in to replyHey Nicole! Again, thank you for this video. As I have stated in a previous comment about a recent video, I really like how this is done. You show the exercise and explain it as you are doing it. I really like that and to me, it really helps out. Keep strong and keep up the great work!! 🙂

Log in to replySince I changed my training after going from the bikini division to the figure division, I’ve noticed my waist seems to have thickened out as my mid section has become more developed. Do you think that there are particular ab exercises that are more waist ‘friendly’ than others?
Log in to replyHi Sarah,
I have that exact same question – my waist has always been on the thick side so as much as I love using a variety of ab exercises, my trainer tells me to avoid some of them because they would thicken the waist more. He mentioned the hanging leg raises and weighted twists. So I try to use only body weight when doing any twisting movements, lots of planking and for all other exercises (crunches etc.) I use light weight.
I’d love Nicole to weigh in here though, to confirm whether this is the right approach.
