One of the coolest parts of being an IFBB Pro and sponsored athlete is having an opportunity to travel around the world. Last weekend I went to Colombia and Peru on behalf of my sponsor, MetRx. I woke up at 3 am on Thursday morning in California for a 7 am flight to Bogota, Colombia with a layover in Houston. The flight time is around 8 hours but with layovers I didn’t land until about 9 pm – Colombia is in the Central Time Zone. Over the next three days the activities were nonstop! I didn’t get any workouts in but I did get in two sessions of cardio and ate clean about 90 percent of the time 🙂
Here are some photos from the trip!
A banner of me outside AP Gym in Bogota, Colombia for product shots and videos with MetRx.
Interviews with the Colombian media outlets. They showed me the questions before in English, but the interviewer spoke Spanish. I had to pretend like I knew what he was asking when I answered lol
After the interviews and MetRx videos I put 30 women through a workout. These are some of the hardcore ladies of Bogota!
Finally arrived at the hotel in Lima Peru at 2 am the next morning. I had to wake up at 8 am to do cardio so I couldn’t wait to get to bed.
The view from my hotel room in Lima.
Driving along the coast in Lima I had to stop to take a picture. The weather was like 80 and humid so I had to wear my hair curly!
Lunch at Larcomar Mall in Lima. I tried the ceviche for the first time and it was really good! Ceviche is basically raw fish with lemon juice.
The view of the coast from the balcony of the restaurant.
The view of downtown Lima in the evening before my seminar at the Hilton Hotel.
The seminar went great despite the language barrier lol! Everyone had to wear headphones – including me. When I spoke, a translator recited what I said in Spanish so everyone could understand me. When they asked questions, the interpreter would ask them back to me in English. It made things interesting but I think everyone enjoyed it! Afterwards I got to meet each person and take photos.
The LAB Nutrition staff that organized my activities in Lima. I would have been lost without them!
Before dinner, we had a little time for sightseeing. They took me to see the Incan Ruins.
I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 6:30 to do cardio and leave the hotel by 8. Before flying to Arequipa we made a stop in the center of Lima. It was very beautiful. Arequipa is in Peru but is about a 90 minute flight from Lima.
When we arrived in Arequipa, we went straight to the IFBB Miss and Mister Peru Bodybuilding, Body Fitness and Bikini Championships. The Body Fitness division is what we in the US know as the Figure division.
I met all of the passionate fans at the MetRx booth. In Peru, the custom is to greet you with a kiss on the cheek instead of a handshake – which caught me a bit by surprise!
After the competition we went out to dinner and I got to try some Peruvian cuisine. The food was very rich. It was very good but not the healthiest. Good thing I was only there for a weekend 🙂
Santiago (black shirt), the owner of LAB Nutrition, presented me with a plaque at the airport before flying back to Lima to thank me for making the trip.
