I’ve been frustrated as I’m not seeing cuts in the front mid part of my stomach and come to realize that my abs seperate when I do sit-ups, crunchs ect. I actually see a bulg in the middle come up when I’m doing them. I believe this is called Diastasis recti. I’m 3 years post my third third and never thought this was an issue for me. The more I’m reading about it says not to do many of the exercises you have is doing for the challenge. Can you suggest how I should modify the workout so I can still build my ab muscles but not create more separation?
Yeah I am also interested in finding out what workouts can be done if you have a diastasis recti? It doesn’t allow for crunches and such because it can make the gap bigger.
Hi Nicole. What would be some modified crunches? I have this problem too and just signed up for the 35 day challenge. I get awful cramps if I do regular crunches. I have 2 kids. Didn’t realize I had this issue until I would cramp up. It happened during a pilates class using the machine…she told me that’s what I probably have (Diastasis Recti). Thanks!!
