We had family in town this past weekend and I made some homemade banana bread for everyone, since it was a favorite of mine when I was growing up. And it gave me the idea of creating a healthier version for those of you who are mindful of eating clean, but also want something that tastes just like homemade banana bread – without the extra calories and with some added protein! I’m not just saying this, but I actually liked this one better than the “normal” banana bread I made over the weekend.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
NUTRITION INFO (per serving)
I LOVE banana bread! Thank you so very much for this recipe Nicole! I can now have banana bread and feel good about it! Thanks again! You’re awesome!
Log in to replyAre the macros per 1 small loaf?
Log in to replyYep
Log in to replyI can’t wait to try this!! The macros are great and this banana bread will be easy to incorporate into my nutrition plan. Thanks for posting!
Log in to replyCan’t wait to try this! YUM!
Log in to replyNicole, I hope you don’t mind a suggestion. I noticed that the sides and bottom of the banana bread came out very dark. Dark baking pans absorb more heat, so to avoid this and have more even browning, you can reduce the oven temp by 25 degrees. 😉
Log in to replyThanks for the tip 🙂
Log in to replyYay! Thanks Nicole! I’m totally obsessed with the pumpkin bread you did and i can see this one being a massive hit too! Would love to get some chocolate protein recipes too if you have any 🙂
Log in to replyMade them today but only had banana cream protein powder so I used that and just re calculated in my fitness pal it was awesome I based it off 5 and it took me 40 min to cook not sure why
Log in to replyThank u Nicole !!!!
Good before my workout today!
Hmm I am not sure…
Log in to replyThe pumpkin ones are so yummy so cannot wait to taste these ones. I have another recipe I’ve been using but it has more ingredients and is more fiddly!
TIP: mash the bananas first then add the mashed mix to the ingredients

I watched the video and see the macros, but do you list out the exact recipe anywhere so we can easily print/save? I realize I could have written it down…just wondering if it’s anywhere to print.

Log in to replyIt is snowing in Maryland today and I have all the ingredients to make this and instead of individual loaves I will make muffins…great idea as usual.
Log in to replyI’m trying to find the printable version of this recipe on this site. Can you guide me please? Or I can do it the old fashioned way of actually writing it down! LOL!
Log in to replyThanks for posting this easy delicious recipe! I made these today in my cupcake tins for myself & my children’s after school snack & grab n’ go breakfast. My 18 year old boy added a spoonful of peanut butter to the top of his. He LOVED IT! Who says you can cook Nicole?! These are GOOD! Keep at it girl!
Log in to replySo it was my error I put it on the bottom shelf of the stove I ended up putting on the top rack and it did only take the 20 min as you said.
Log in to replyI used that Combat banana protein powder and did not use stevia and it was so delicious now a staple for me… so good and fits my macros… Thank you so much.. Please continue to post these you make such a huge difference! You are a blessing and amazing! 🙂
can you post the “printable” version of the measurements, etc…?
Log in to replyI made these last night, and had one before my workout this morning. DE-Lish! The baker in me found they didn’t crown nicely though, so I think I’ll add baking powder as well next time.
Log in to replyLet me know how it turns out 🙂
Log in to replyThey turned out great! They’re a little fluffier than the first batch I made. Almost like a dense cupcake. Nomnomnom!
Log in to replyOMG Nicole,,,,I am OBSESSED with these little nuggets of goodness! Every weekend I make a double batch, I had to order an extra pan so I could get 16 at once..lol. Banana bread has always been one of my favorites and these are just as good, if not better than regular! Thanks for the recipe!
Log in to reply(In case anyone is wondering, they freeze well too:))
Banana bread is awesome! I love finding guilt free protein snack portioned out for success! I need things like this to take with to work so I can get in a protein snack between clients! Thanks, Nicole!
Log in to replyJust joined your website yesterday Nicole and am loving all of your videos. I just made the protein banana bread this afternoon and it’s difficult to keep myself from eating the whole thing! I’m prepping for my first figure contest (May 28) and weighed out each serving before placing it in my brownie pan. The servings are smaller than yours, but they fit great into my macros and, like you, give me a little childhood nostalgia when I eat them.
Log in to replyI am so glad you like them 🙂 Good luck at your show!
Log in to replyDelicious!! My kids love it too! Thanks for the recipe! 🙂
Log in to replyYOU SHOULD TOTALLY COME OUT WITH A– NWFIT COOKBOOK- eat to be fit!
Log in to replyThese are amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Log in to replyits really delicious!
Log in to replyThis recipe did not rise. came out flat and sunken.
Log in to replyHi Nicole:
How can we get more protein into the muffins without them being spongy. There are muffins out there in the market that say they are flourless and have 22 grams of protein.
Thanks :0))
