Eating clean – especially “competition-prep” clean – can get very boring and repetitive. When that happens, we are more likely to start thinking about all the different ways we can cheat on our diets. So it really helps to be able to mix things up while managing to say on your diet. This recipe for a low-carb, low-fat turkey burger does exactly that! I ate it myself after this video, so I can vouch for the fact that it is contest-prep friendly 🙂

Log in to replyDo you still have peppers in your meals during your prep? I know in your previous ‘day in the life’ video you mentioned you enjoy them 🙂
Sometimes 🙂 Lately I have been eating a lot of cucumbers.
Log in to replyNever seen mushrooms that big. Definitely a great cheat clean option! Nice!
Log in to reply🙁 I can’t stomach a mushroom. Any thing I could switch that with?
Log in to replywhat I like to do is wrap the burger in lettuce – I hate mushrooms too & lettuce has less carbs than a mushroom does.

Log in to replyThats an awesome recipe, I tried this recently myself and loved it. I am in comp prep as well and its perfect! Plus another bonus of eating mushrooms is that they actually can help with bloating and water retention 🙂
Log in to replyGlad you liked it!

Log in to replyHi! TGIF!
Log in to replyI LOOOOOVE the entire outfit from the pic you posted today on IG. The dark grey long sleeve top with the thumbholes, purple sports bra and purple pants. Will you please share?? Are they from your clothing line? OMGosh I love em!
It was all by Nike
Log in to replyI have used mushrooms as a bun for a while but have never taken the gills out, great tip I will have to try to stop them going soggy.

Log in to replyMaking these tonight. Thank you!
Log in to replyGreat ideas. Tks
Log in to replyDo you ever cut out pam as the show gets closer? Also, I’ve found that making the patties flatter helps them cook faster and retain more juices, otherwise they get super thick as they cook, if you haven’t tried that before! 🙂
Log in to replyI use pam sparingly so no, I don’t cut it out. I will try to flatten them next time. Thank you!
Log in to replyGREAT!! NICOLE WILKINS TURKEY BURGERS ……. IT’S WHAT’S FOR DINNER! Bon Appetit!
Log in to replyGreat recipe, I used ground chicken breast, added chopped apples and fat free feta. Not contest prep friendly but still very clean and my wife and daughters loved them! Forgot how much I love portobellos!!

Log in to replyThanks so much for this recipe. I like the idea of filling the caps! Im getting bored with my contest prep, going to ask my coach if we can incorporate these!!!
