You guys have seen me do this in a lot of my workouts, but here is a quick look at how to perform the Rest/Pause intensity technique to help ramp up the intensity of your next workout – and lift heavier weight!

Thanks Nicole! I love using this especially on shoulders.

Is this a frequent technique to use or only once in a while? because with your workouts I have been using it pretty frequently to push myself to get to the reps that are needed.
I actually used this with my squats and I thought it would help too.
Log in to replyI use this technique when I’m lifting heavy; great way to get the maximum reps. Thanks Nicole!
Log in to replyHi Nicole! I greatly value all the knowledge you continually share with us! I would like to ask a question. Each time I see you perform cable Lat pull downs I wonder about the form/technique you choose. I have always read and have been taught to sit upright and bring the bar straight down, when doing this exercise, yet I notice you typically lean back and pull to your chest. Can you please share some insight on why you choose to do it this way (doing you feel it more in a particular area etc.?) and share your opinion on the benefits or downside to each way? Thank you so much!
Log in to replyI lean back slightly so that my front delts do not come into play. I feel it much more in my lats when I lift my chest and pull my shoulders back slightly. I bring the bar just under the chin 🙂

Log in to replyThis is just great. I needed this in my routine to build !!!!

So if you rest pause and only get one, is it better to drop the weight and get a few more?
Thanks! Your videos are very helpful
Log in to replyWhen doing rest pause, you have not reached complete failure yet. You are just trying to squeeze a few more out.
When doing a drop set, you reach complete failure or very very close and then drop the weight.
