As I say in the intro to this video, this was a day when we were supposed to be in Los Angeles for a few meetings. The plan was to go to Gold’s Venice when they were over, which would have been around 4-5 in the evening – prime time and very busy. I didn’t want to have to wait for machines or search for something else if the machine I wanted to use was taken, so I planned out this dumbbell giant set shoulder workout in advance knowing I could do it all in one spot – all I needed was a few different sets of dumbbells and an adjustable bench.
Well, those meeting fell through and we didn’t go to LA, but I decided to do this workout anyway to show you how you can get in a great workout just about anywhere – in a busy gym, at home, in a hotel gym, or wherever you may be on that particular day. Let me know what you think!
THE WORKOUT
loved it. I know you had a shoulder in the past, does it ever hurt?
Log in to replyI mean’t shoulder injury
Log in to replyHi Nicole, thanks for the awesome workout! I always try each workout you post and it gives me so much variety and many new ideas. Could you guys post the work out summary at the end of the video or underneath? I always take a picture of the summary on my phone and that way I can reference it when I’m at the gym. Thank you so much!
Log in to replyAgree with Megan, the summaries are so helpful.
Log in to replyAgreed 🙂
Log in to replyAgree!
Log in to replyDid the giant set workout today ,amazing workout my shoulders are on fire ,not competing til the fall so have a bit of time to put on some muscle mass ,loved it !!! Thanks nicole
Log in to replyLove this! My only option is working out at home using adjustable dumbbells, so imagine my excitement when this was a dumbbell-only workout. LOL! I’m looking forward to trying this, as I’ve felt in a bit of a rut lately and have the worst time getting creative with my workouts. Thanks for all you do, Nicole! <3
Log in to replyThank you Nicole! Awesome workout….completed
Log in to replythank you! Can’t wait to do this workout tomorrow!
Log in to replyI want to try this tomorrow. Can you post the full workout in a print form? Or somewhere that I can take a picture of?
Log in to replyI love the summaries as well! I can take a quick screenshot for the gym!! Also when making recipes I like the summary so I can refer to it if I missed something in the video 🙂
Log in to replyLove this workout!! I needed a new one
Thanks so much Nicole!! I watched it all the way through, and can imagine how much this is going to burn when I get a chance to try it out. I love the tips you give in between the sets as well. I am only 4’9 and weigh 95lbs. I have been working out and teaching group fitness classes as a Certified Instructor for 3 years. I have never done an incline rear delt or incline high row lying face down on the bench because of my height, but I am going to give it a try and hope for the best!! Thank you again. Kathy
Log in to replyI love these videos of workouts you can do with minimal space and/or equipment. Handy to have as a mum or if you just can’t get to the gym some days. I’ve got some minimal equipment at home so this is AWESOME.
i agree too – the summaries are really handy to refer to at the bottom of the videos.
Thank you!
Log in to replyAgree with the others…a summary would be very helpful.

Log in to replyI’m a new member Nicole and I tried this jumping back into the gym after a 3 month summer travel and a shoulder injury. I absolutely loved this didn’t have a whole lot of time so I thought a Giant set was awesome/ had never heard of a giant set
Log in to replyThe workout is now posted.
Have you tried Shazam Cathy? It is a free app that will identify a song for you after just a few seconds. It’s one of the best, give it a try!
Log in to replyI had quite the pump going from this workout tonight! Awesome! I had never done around the worlds, could definitely feel the burn. Thanks again!
Log in to replyThe workout was amazing.
Log in to replyNicole when doing the Arnold press if ur back comes of the bench as you are pressing is that ok?
Also the rep ranges are they more specific to you and what u did? For muscle gain should I be going with 12 reps and when I get them increase.
The workout was a challenge. Loved pushing myself the full time. Thanks as always
Also what do you think about keeping track of the weights and reps? How often should a workout be switched up. I hear so many things
Log in to replyGreat workout, thanks for sharing!
Log in to replyJust wanted to say that I did this workout this morning and it was killer! I absolutely loved it and the pump my shoulders had was amazing! Thanks Nicole, for another great workout! Was wondering if you could show some other body parts/ exercises that could be done as a Giant Set? Thanks so much!
Log in to replyHi Nicole,
Thank you so much for taking the time to create and post all your videos. I’m in week 3 of my 17 week prep for my first figure competition, so your positive attitude and work ethic keeps me driven 🙂
Thanks for being an awesome role model in this industry!

Log in to replyGreat workout!
Log in to replyThanks so much! Did the workout today and absolutely loved it!! I definitely could have gone heavier but still killed me and I felt great and pumped all day 🙂
Log in to replyThank you! going to hit this today!
Log in to replyPlan on trying this next shoulder day. If you have tendonitis in an elbow is there an alternative to the lateral raise? That’s a killer for me until I heal up.
Log in to replyNo. Stick to the shoulder exercises that do not cause pain. The only thing you can do with tendinitis is rest.
Log in to replyKillin’ it. Thank you because I do delts 2x per week. This can shake things up for me. Great help!
Log in to replyHI! Where did you get that tank top?? Love it!
Log in to replyHoly Moly!!! This workout is no joke!!! I had to go down to 5lbs on the around the worlds, lol, totally kicked my butt!! Thx Nicole!!! :-))
Log in to replyAbsolutely love this workout! Thank you so much Nicole, the burn & pump feel epic but I think I may be eating my words later! Haha! More giant sets please!
Log in to replyI did this workout this morning and loved it! For having that many exercises it’s really time efficient, and super intense! Yay! 😀
Log in to replyI have never seen the around the world shoulder exercise before. I am trying these tomorrow with my shoulder routine, both of the super sets.
Log in to replyGOING TO GIVE IT A TRY IN THE MORNING! I LOVE GIANT SETS!!
Log in to replyI lift at home with dumbbells, and have e bench and a squat rack that has a cable. I had been thinking about jointing your site for a while, but was worried that to follow the workouts I needed to go to a gym. Thanks for posting workouts with less equipment to make it worthwhile to join and continue membership for those of us that don’t go to a gym!
Log in to replyYou are welcome! We will do more of them in the future.
Log in to replyLoved this workout!!! Felt a really good pump, and it was fun to do different things!!! Thank you for posting this workout!!!
Log in to replyAwesome workout!! I had a major pump and burn after completing this workout!! I even added a gaint set for abs at the end since the shoulder workout went by quickly! : )
Log in to replyEXCELLENT, balanced shoulder workout that is easy to to when time is limited. Thank you!
Log in to replyYou know? I have been doing this for years, and I was losing my mojo. Following your workouts, tips and nutrition have brought my joy of fitness back. I’ve tried a number of your routines and love them. Most importantly, I am learning not only the hows but the whys and have started creating my own.
Love, love this one. I also have shoulder injuries, but I am learning to warm up properly and check my form better. I’ll be trying this one tomorrow.
Thanks a million for keeping it real!!!
Log in to replyThank you Laura! I am glad you are getting your mojo back 😉

Log in to replyHi Nicole! This video/workout is perfect as I workout at a women’s only gym, and I find the machines always full yet the dumbbell area almost always empty!
Log in to replyNot sure if you’ll see this comment as the video is somewhat old now, but how heavy do you usually do lateral raises? I’ve seen you use 15s often but didn’t know if you go much heavier. Just curious!
Thanks! 🙂
Hey Nicole, loved seeing how real you are and it’s ok you slipped off the ball really! Iove seeing you’re’ human even though you’re capable of Un human things. You rock!
